The End Of The 1989 World Tour

What a year it as been and now The 1989 World Tour has come to an end in Melbourne, Australia with 3 sold out shows at AAMI Park.

Taylor's final leg of The 1989 World Tour was an interesting on that is for sure. Taylor headed down under a week before she was due in Sydney to play for the largest crowd on The 1989 World Tour for what seemed to be a spot of music video filming and creating a game the world tried to play along the way.

Where in the World is Taylor Swift? That is what the world called it while Taylor was under the radar and being secretive. Where was she? It was eventually proven after she was spotted getting off a private jet, that she was in New Zealand. New Zealand had been skipped of getting a tour date as part of The 1989 World Tour so what was she doing in the country?

After people saw who they believed to be Taylor and a film crew, it is believed that she had come to this part of the world to film a new music video. The speculation is that the new single and video is Out Of The Woods and as radio stations start to play Out Of The Woods on air it seems to be true however is no official word from Taylor or her management on what the next single might be.

Taylor then headed to Sydney to perform at ANZ Stadium to 76,000 people, making it one of largest crowds she had ever played for and the biggest crowd on The 1989 World Tour. The Sydney show was the one show singled out during the Australia tour and it was only for good reasons. The Sydney show was professionally filmed for what is believed to be a world tour DVD. This filming meant Taylor performed "All You Had To Do Was Stay" and "This Love". These performances were special because the songs had not been performed on over half of the US leg of the tour but they were performed initially in Tokyo and also in Singapore and Shanghai.
The day after the concert, Taylor was again spotted in New Zealand, this time in Queenstown getting off her private jet and then visiting a local restaurant for dinner. The next day Taylor and her brother Austin, along with Mum Andrea posted a few photos showing off their little road trip in the South Island before she headed up to Hamilton Island north of Brisbane for a few days.

The final shows before Melbourne were in Adelaide where Taylor was very much welcomed after skipping the city on her tour of Australia for The RED Tour in 2013.

The Adelaide shows were one of the smaller shows in the tour but that the fans seemed to mind, A better view for everyone who attended and who doesn't love being up close to Taylor.

The last night of the tour was an emotional one for all involved and for fans around the world. Its the end of a spectacular, thrilling, exciting tour that has covered 85 shows across 4 continents and played to more than 1.5 Million fans. All the months of planning and rehearsals paid off as the show and its massive crew made its way around the world.

As Taylor closed up the final show in Melbourne she hugged each person on stage after playing "Shake It Off" for the final time. There have also been many emotional tweets and posts from the band, dancers and back up singers on the ending of a whirlwind, magical year.

As for where Taylor is heading next as the new year approaches? Who knows and Taylor doesn't know herself. There has been rumors going around that Taylor will take an extended break from music and we wont get any new music for a few years.
Personally I don't think we will have to wait quite that long. Music and the inspiration behind the songs is not something you can just turn off and ignore for a while. Taylor is always writing and just because she is on a break its not going to stop her from writing and recording as and when she feels the need to do so.

Will she continue her pattern and release another album in late 2016? I don't know. Taylor doesn't know. I hope so. If Taylor is not ready to release another album yet then I respect that decision. Taylor deserves to just relax and take it easy for a while.

My Dearest Taylor, Thank you for putting on such a spectacular 1989 World Tour. Seeing you in Sydney was the best night I had in a long time and the year long wait and all the money I spent on flights to see the show was so worth every penny. For playing the full setlist for us which included All You Had To Do Was Stay and This Love made the show even more special.

I hope you have a great 26th Birthday in Melbourne Taylor, Make it special.
Happy Birthday Beautiful.

Grammy Nominations 2016

On Monday December 7th, the nominations for the 2016 Grammy awards were announced. The show will be held in Los Angeles on Febura

1989 as an album having been released after the cut off time closed for the the 2015 Grammys is only now eligible for nominations and the album certainly got the nominations this year.

A total of 7 nominations came Taylor's way on Monday including what is known as the big 3 when it comes to nominations, Album, Song and Record of the Year.

Taylor's Nominations for the 2016 Grammy's are as follows:

Album of the Year: Taylor Swift, 1989
Song of the Year:  "Blank Space"
Record of the Year: "Blank Space"
Best Pop Vocal Album: 1989
Best Pop Solo Performance: "Blank Space"
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: "Bad Blood" Featuring Kendrick Lamar
Best Music Video: "Bad Blood"

The last time Taylor had this many nominations was in 2010 for her album Fearless which picked up the Album of the Year prize and made Taylor the youngest person to ever win Album of the Year. RED was also nominated for Album of the Year, however it lost out to Daft Punk. 1989 being the massively successful album that it is has a very good chance at winning in 2016 and giving Taylor her 2nd Album of the Year award.

This year's nominations bring her total nominations to 29, and should Taylor win both Song and Record of the Year it will be the first time she has won either of these awards after having nominations in these categories in previous years. "You Belong With Me and "Shake It Off" have both been nominated for Song of the Year previously while "You Belong With Me", " We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Shake It Off" have all previously been nominated for Record of the Year.
All other categories are either a first or 2nd time nomination with Taylor having never won in any of the categories before.

In 2010 when Taylor had 8 nominations she came away with 4 awards so here's hoping she can do it again in 2016.

In 2015, Shake It Off was nominated for 3 awards and was unsuccessful so the album as a whole should do a lot better in 2016.

The last time Taylor won a Grammy was in 2012 for Best Song Written For Visual Media with her Hunger Games track "Safe and Sound feat. The Civil Wars".

All the best for the 2016 Grammy's Taylor. I hope you get all of your awards, they are all so well deserved for such a masterpiece

Happy Birthday 1989

Today marks the one year since Taylor released the smash hit album 1989 to the world so
Happy Birthday 1989

1989 has achieved some incredible statistics in the last year includings all 5 singles reaching the No.1 position on the Billboard Pop Chart and spending all 52 weeks in the last year within the top 10 of the Billboard 200 Album Chart.

As a celebratory gift on the birthday of 1989 Taylor released a video of her performing Out Of The Woods on the Piano at the Grammy Museum on September 30th.

All 5 singles Shake It Off, Blank Space, Style, Bad Blood and Wildest Dreams made it into the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with Shake It Off, Blank Space and Bad Blood all reaching No.1.

Shake It Off debuted at No.1 after its release, while Blank Space knocked Shake It Off out of the top spot after its official release as a single. The Bad Blood Remix with Kendrick Lamar, landed in the No.1 spot after its star studded video was released at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.
Style and Wildest Dreams peaked at No. 5/6 on the Hot 100.

Wildest Dreams has just hit No.1 on the Billboard Pop Songs Chart, making 1989 only the 2nd album behind Katy Perry's Teenage Dream to achieve all 5 singles at No.1 on the Pop Songs chart.

1989 spent 11 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 Album chart and has not dropped out of the top 10 since, a record only matched by Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Adele and Fleetwood Mac.

Taylor posted this edit in Celebration, Here's to another amazing year of 1989

MTV Video Music Awards 2015

The MTV Video Music Awards are never just a quiet affair with performances and handing out a few awards along the way and 2015 was no exception.

Taylor premiered her new music video for Wildest Dreams (which you can read all about in my previous post) then proceeded to appear on stage with Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj threw insults at Miley Cyrus over something that happened earlier in the week, Kanye West received an award for his career and made a 10 minute speech about it ending with saying he wanted to run for president and to top it all off the VMAs had a host which was none other than Miley Cyrus.

Lets start at the beginning of the show and work our way through.

Nicki Minaj opened the show with a performance mash up of her songs Trini Dem Girls/The Night Is Still Young. Just when you thought the performance was over, Taylor appeared at the back of the stage. Dressed in a matching red one piece that looks like her Style outfits from the 1989 tour, Taylor sang a verse of Nicki's song The Night Is Still Young, before both her and Nicki sang the chorus to Bad Blood. Both stars looked very happy on stage together and proved the is no Bad Blood between them after a previous twitter disagreement earlier in the month.

Miley Cyrus and her crazy outfits certainly kept everyone guessing throughout the night with all her appearance changes, some of them surprisingly decent for Miley while others were typical Miley.

The first bout of trouble appeared when Nicki was giving her acceptance speech for Best Hip Hop Video. Apparently the media had twisted something either Miley or Nicki had said indirectly about or to each other and was using it against Nicki. Nicki then proceeded to call out Miley as a B*. Miley was quick to apologise and point out her words had been twisted around while also congratulating Nicki on the win.

Taylor presented Kanye West with the Video Vanguard Award and both sides used lines from their previous VMA encounter back in 2009 in their speeches. You can find full details in this Article.

Taylor and her dancing is something that never fails to appear at award shows and this was no different.

Taylor rounded out her successful night at the 2015 MTV VMAs by taking home the top prize, earning her first Video of the Year award for "Bad Blood" with Kendrick Lamar.
There was some tough competition from the likes of  Beyoncé's "7/11," Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud," Lamar's "Alright" and Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk," the futuristic video for the duo's Hot 100 chart-topping collaboration was the clear-cut favorite from the start.

Taylor, who attended the VMAs with her "Bad Blood" squad, got them all to come up on stage with her to accept her award that commenced with respects paid to Straight Outta Compton and the absent Lamar.

Taylor gave credit to everyone on the stage with her by saying"This was such a collaborative effort, These women helped create their parts, write their roles and decide what they wanted to be. Two of these women I've named cats after. For the fans to give us this bonding experience we'll have forever -- thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The video itself lately had being getting a bit of criticism from the press for showing girls fighting and resolving problems in a way that is not lady like. Taylor hit back at this by finishing she speech with "I'm just happy in 2015 to live in a world where boys can play princesses and girls can play soldiers." She received a standing ovation.

The 4 awards Taylor received at the VMA's are:
Best Pop Video - Blank Space
Best Female Video - Blank Space
Best Collaboration - Bad Blood Feat. Kendrick Lamar
Video Of The Year - Bad Blood Feat. Kendrick Lamar

Congratulations Taylor on your 4 VMA's.

Wildest Dreams Music Video Released

In the final minutes of the pre show to the 2015 Video Music Awards, The video for Wildest Dreams premiered for the first time.

While I believe the actual clip of Taylor introducing her new video was pre recorded only an hour earlier, when your caught up in the excitement of the videos release, it doesn't really matter. Taylor took the direction of this video to a whole new level and it was something no one was really expecting. 1950's africa and a movie scene was something no one saw coming.

The release of Wildest Dreams is the 5th single off 1989 behind Shake It Off, Blank Space, Style and Bad Blood.

Taylor took on a different look in this video going brunette with a wig that had her hair longer than her current golden blonde hair. Brunette on Taylor is something I had to do a double take on to ensure myself it was actually her, but should she ever make the switch to darker hair, it would certainly suit her nicely.

Whether Taylor actually went to Africa or not is still opening debated given she is currently on her 1989 world tour and has no more than a week off between shows, however it is something we may never know. The director Joseph Khan however did confirm that he travelled to South Africa to get the shots of the animals used in the video.

It was also noted at the end of the video that all proceeds from the video will go back into African wildlife conservation.

I absolutely adore the video Taylor, Just is there going to be a tour music video at all?

LA Week! 1989 Tour 2015

Taylor's concerts at the Staples Center in Los Angeles are known to be some of the biggest shows of the entire tour. The 1989 tour stayed in town from August 21st - 26th 2015.

The 1989 tour coming to LA brings Taylor's number of shows at the Staples Center to a massive 16 sold out shows. 16 sold out shows over 4 tours including 5 on the 1989 tour alone all by a solo artist makes it a record breaking number, the previous record Taylor also broke in 2013 with 11 sold out shows at the conclusion of the Red Tour's stay at the Staples Center.

Kobe Bryant was a guest who walked the catwalk like stage during "Style"on August 21st and at the end of the song he was the one to surprise Taylor, who said herself that she likes to surprise the fans. When Kobe was passed a spare microphone by one of the crew, Taylor knew something was going on and asked the music to be stopped. What Kobe said next took Taylor completely by surprise. Her own championship banner as a permanent addition next to the LA Kings Basketball championship banners already hanging at the Staples Centers.

Celebrities sightings at the shows is a page long, and that's only the ones who are actually spotted by fans. I might be exaggerating a little bit there but you get the picture. You never know who you're going to come across walking the floor area of the Staples center before the show and who you may get the chance to say hi too and get a photo with.

Sightings from just the first two shows include,

- Night Two (Aug 22nd): Janel Parrish, Jessica Capshaw,Salma Hayek, Adam Scott, Arden Cho, Zendaya, Hilary Duff, Jack Falahee, Ashley Benson, Sabrina Carpenter, Genevieve Hannelius, Kelli Burgland, Yvonne Strahovski, Zoey Deutch, Meghan Rienks, Meredith Foster, Kira Kosarin, Jack Baran, Lacey Chabert, Nina Dobrev.

Wildest Dreams Is The 5th Single Off 1989

It was announced today (August 5th) that Wildest Dreams is the latest song off Taylor's smash hit pop album 1989 to become a single.

Wildest Dreams follows the 4 previous singles off 1989 which were all in the top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Shake It Off and Blank Space both reached No.1 consecutively with each song spending 4 weeks and 7 weeks atop the charts respectively. Style reached No. 6 while Bad Blood also reached No. 1.

Of course this latest news sent the world into a spin of excitement as no new single had been hinted at since the release of Bad Blood.

Taylor has always had a music video of tour footage from the previous 3 tours so it will be interesting to see if Wildest Dreams is a tour video or not.
Personally, Its not the song I would have chosen to pair up with tour footage. I would have chosen to use New, Romantics, Wonderland, I Know Places, or I Wish You Would. We will find out soon enough as to what the video is.

As I mentioned in previous posts, I am not watching any tour footage or listening to any musical arrangements until after I have seen the tour in Sydney in November so if Wildest Dreams is in fact the tour video for 1989, I won't be watching it until after my concert.

I'm super excited to hear Wildest Dreams on the radio for the first time and hope you are as all as excited as me to have Wildest Dreams as the latest single.

Just the other day it was announced who landed a nomination for the 2015 Video Music Awards which will be held in Los Angeles on August 30th.

"1989" Sells 5 Million Copies in the US, Blank Space Reaches 1 Billion Views

Taylor has reached two more milestones in her career and these one comes with a few records along the way.

This week the US Album sales for 1989 has made it the fastest selling album in over 10 years. 1989 has reached 5 Million sales in the USA alone in just 36 weeks since its release on October 27th 2014. The magic 5 Million mark was reached in the week ending July 5th and now stands at 5.015 Million. 1989's climb to 5 Million sales is the fastest since Usher's Confessions sold 5 Million in just 19 weeks back in 2004.

1989 is now Taylor's 3rd highest selling album behind Fearless (released in 2008) and her self-titled debut (released in 2006). They've sold 6.95 million and 5.52 million, respectively, to-date. With the current sales trend of 1989, the sales would surpass her self-titled debut album in a matter of months and possibly before the end of 2015.

The last album which reached 5 Million sales was Adele's 21 back in 2011 in its 42nd week of release. 1989 also spends its 36th consecutive week in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 chart, meaning the album has not dropped out of the top 10 since its release.

Blank Space has reached its own milestone this week with the music video reaching a record 1 Billion views through Vevo and Youtube. The video became the fastest video to reach 1 Billion views. Blank Space becomes the first video from a female solo artist to hit 1 Billion views without a collaboration.

Where Do The New Tour Dates Leave NZ?

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw that Taylor has announced new 1989 tour dates for China and Singapore is What about New Zealand?

Many people have given up hope a long time ago that Taylor was ever going to come back to New Zealand for her 1989 World Tour but not me, and the latest development just leaves the question begging in my opinion.

What about New Zealand you ask and why are you bringing this up now? I know she is not coming you say, it's been confirmed by the touring company and everything. Just hear me out ok?

Taylor performs in Shanghai, China on November 11th, and then is next scheduled to perform in Sydney Australia on November 28th and continues through Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne until December 12th.
So what do you think Taylor is going to get up to between Nov 12th and 27th? Return to the US for two weeks only to cover the same distance on the plane to return to Australia? Or would she add in more tour dates in other places around Asia and New Zealand before arriving in Sydney?

For the RED Tour, Taylor also visited Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia. Adding in travel time within Asia, and a single show at the above listed places, Taylor would have enough time to tour those places and still do three New Zealand shows before heading over to Sydney. Remember there was only 3 days between RED Tour Auckland and Sydney shows, so it is able to be done. In 2011 Taylor toured in South Korea and Hong Kong so maybe she also might return to those places?

Any further dates released for Asia I would expect to be announced after the general sale for the current dates on June 30th.

I know if you have got this far you think I'm rambling on about nothing and am just dreaming that Taylor is going to bring the 1989 World Tour to New Zealand, but whatever you may think, I firmly still believe that Taylor will come, Patience is a Virtue my dears.

Others have suggested that Taylor will come to New Zealand after the Australian dates ie within the 10 days leading up to Christmas and then head home in time for the holidays. So far this is still an option with no currently scheduled/known concerts to be performed in both New Zealand's main arena or the stadium which might possibly be used. Having said that, the weekend before the 1989 Sydney concert, the potential concert stadium is hosting another concert. Should Taylor chose to perform just before Christmas, she won't be the first one to do so after another artist did so in 2014.

I've taken way longer to write this than I should have of and stopped for dinner in between so I did slightly lose my place as to what I was initially thinking of when I started writing this. Having said that, I feel you get my drift and where I'm trying to go with it. Provoking that thought that 1989 Tour to New Zealand is still possible until the 1989 tour is over. Taylor will already be on this side of the world so why wouldn't she come here and she promised us so.

Just wait it out and good things will happen,
Patience is a Virtue

The 1989 World Tour Is Coming To Singapore And China

On June 24th 2015 at 10am CST (China Standard Time), Taylor made the official announcement that she is returning to China and Singapore in November 2015.

The tour dates are as follows:
November 7th/8th in Singapore
November 10th/11th in Shanghai

Taylor returns to South East Asia a mere 17 months after she was in the area for the final leg of her critically acclaimed RED Tour which ended on June 12th 2014. Taylor has chosen to set the 1989 Tour dates for China and Singapore just a week after her 1989 Tour wraps up in Florida on October 31st. Clearly there is no rest this year for our superstar.

Taylor returns to the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai, which is the same place where she performed her very first concert in China on the RED Tour in 2014. While in Singapore, Taylor also returns to the Singapore Indoor Stadium where she held her RED Tour concert.

Below is the official announcement tweet from Taylor Nation, be sure to be ready to snap up those tickets cause they will sell like hot cakes and I highly doubt there will be any more dates in either city, but dates in other places in South East Asia could have dates announced in the future.

The final question the new tour dates beg to be answered is:
What is Taylor going to get up to between November 12th and 28th when she is due in Sydney Australia for 6 concerts through to December 12th?

Bad Blood Blasts To No.1

On the back of a full charting week with Billboard, the 4th single of the smash hit record "1989", it was announced today that 'Bad Blood" shoots up 53-1 to land on top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for its first week and dethroning Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" in what was a very tight race to the top.

"Bad Blood" started its rise to the top with the music video premier on the Billboard Music Awards on May 17th. While the song sat at No. 53 on last weeks chart after a half charting week (chart is renewed on wednesdays), it shot up to No.1 after a full charting week. On the Digital Songs chart "Bad Blood" jumps from No.26 to No.1 with 385k downloads in the week ending May 24th,  while on the Streaming Songs chart the song sits at No.3 with 18.1 Mil US streams with the majority coming from Vevo/youtube clicks. On the Radio Songs chart a 109% increase to 457 Mil all format audience impressions cause "Bad Blood to jump up to No. 15 from No. 46.

As quoted from the Billboard Article, "Bad Blood" took out all 3 top gainer awards for the week dated June 6th.
"The track sweeps the Hot 100's three top gainer awards, for digital sales, streaming and airplay, marking the first song to so triple up since Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!," featuring Bruno Mars, earned all three honors on the Jan. 3 chart."

Just a few of the 13 facts Billboard posted are below while the rest can be found in the article above.

1: "Bad Blood" is just Taylor's fourth Hot 100 No. 1, following "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" (three weeks at No. 1, 2012), "Shake It Off" (four, 2014) and "Blank Space" (seven, 2014-15).

2: "1989" is the first album since Adele's last album in 2011 to gain 3 No.1 Hot 100 chart toppers from a single album.

3: The 53-1 jump for "Blood" on the Hot 100 is the greatest to the top since Swift's "Together" hurtled 72-1 in 2012, following its first week of sales (after the song had first charted from early airplay).

"Bad Blood" also broke the Vevo record 24 hrs after its release, becoming the most viewed video of all time within a 24hr window. The record number is 20.1 Mil views in 24hrs. This broke the previous record set in August 2014 when one of Nicki Minaj's videos was released.

Having talked all about "Bad Blood" I thought I better include the video again to wrap up as its such an epic video.

Billboard Music Awards 2015 / Bad Blood Music Video Premier

The Billboard Music Awards was a big night for Taylor in 2015. She started off the night with the premier of her new music video for Bad Blood and then took home the first award of the night.

The Bad Blood video was a star studded affair and an action packed video with a surprise twist, Kendrick Lamar. Taylor worked with Kendrick Lamar to produce a rap edit of Bad Blood which the music video plays too. The cast included Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Ellen Pompeo, Zendaya, Karlie Kloss, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Mariska Hargitay, Martha Hunt, Jessica Alba, Serayah, Lena Dunham, Kendrick Lamar, Hailee Steinfeld, Gigi Hadid, Hayley Williams and Lily Aldridge.

Bad Blood started the Billboard Music Awards with the video and awards being able to be streamed in 172 countries across 6 continents. The storyline of the video seems to me to be a little open to interpretation but I see it as you might be betrayed by a good friend and it will hurt but there will be someone there to help you pick up the pieces and fight with you.

Check out the full offical video of Bad Blood below.

The Bad Blood video was not the only star of the night. Taylor picked up a whooping 8 Billboard Music Awards and in the process, it made her the most awarded single artist in Billboard history.

Taylor was nominated for a total of 14 awards and picked up 8 of them as listed below:
- Top Artist
- Top Female Artist
- Top Billboard 200 Artist
- Top Hot 100 Artist
- Top Digital Songs Artist
- Top Billboard 200 Album "1989"
- Top Streaming Song (Video) "Shake It Off"
- Billboard Chart Achievement Award

Taylor needed a total of 7 wins tonight to bring her level with Garth Brooks for the most Billboard Music Awards wins with a total of 19 wins. By picking up 8 Billboard Awards tonight, it makes her the most awarded single artist with 20 awards total. A total of 20 awards follows the 8 awards she received in 2013, 1 in 2012 and 3 in 2011. I thought something may have been presented as a follow up for 2014 Billboard woman of the year but I guess that was covered in the ceremony back on Dec. 12th 2014.

You can see Taylor receiving her awards for Billboard 200 Artist, Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Billboard Chart Achievement Award below.

Taylor with her 8 awards tonight in the press room backstage post show.

Congratulations Taylor on all your awards tonight.Congratulations to Austin on his graduation today. All the best for the US/Europe legs of the 1989 Tour and I will see you in Sydney.

Important: Going on Hiatus

Hey guys,

I'm not sure how many people actually read this blog on a regular basis when I post but I have something important you all should know to explain the next 7 months approx.

I'm attending the 1989 tour in Sydney Australia on November 28th and me along with the friend I am going with are both going to avoid all spoilers until we see the show in person.

For us that means we are not going to be on twitter at all during the next 7 months aside from coming online for the Billboard Music Awards in a few weeks time. We will be avoiding surfing Tumblr where there will be lots of photos and videos of the tour, we won't be finding out who any special guest performers are and we don't want to know the set list either.

I followed the RED Tour heavily on twitter and for this tour I want a completely different experience of not knowing anything and this is the only way for me to do so.

I will still be checking Taylor's tweets and should she post anything important that I feel needs to be blogged about, I will blog about it.

If you need me or want to contact me, I will still be checking my direct messages on twitter, but just not my timeline. Message me on here and I will reply. If you have my facebook, contact me there.

Love you guys and thanks for reading my blog,
I will be back in November.

Tour Time, Its Nearly Here

As Taylor gets ready to jet set across the world to Japan to kick start her 1989 world tour with 2 dates at the Tokyo Dome next week, She has been a very busy girl in the last week as the final tour rehearsals have wrapped up and its time to hit the road.

So, What has Taylor got up to in the last week? She has been photographed hanging out with all the new dancers for the 1989 tour which include 3 returning dancers from the RED Tour Mason Cutler, Mark Villaver and Christian Henderson. You can find all the various photos that the dancers posted HERE.

Taylor has also done some interviews with various places prior to commencing her world tour including E!, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight and ExtraTV.
Taylor talked about everything from going back out on tour and how she changes things up to have each tour bigger and better than the last tour, just like she does with the albums to writing her 6th album to Kayne West and all the ideas he has. Taylor also confirmed that although there has been speculation, she has not actually been in the studio with West at this stage. Taylor explained her sheep instagram video with Access Hollywood and spoke about special guests with ExtraTV.
All full videos of the interviews can be found below.

Its not just interviews Taylor has been doing lately, she has won awards at both the Shorty awards and the Radio Disney awards. The Shorty awards recognise the best of what is on social media and Taylor was given Singer of the Year.
The Radio Disney awards gave her the award for Best Song To Dance To for "Shake It Off"

Billboard have just announced that Taylor is at the top of the Billboard Artist 100 chart for the 24th straight week on the chart dated May 9th. Taylor is now in record extending mode after already having a record for being at the top for 23 weeks. Her position at the top of the chart which is up by 3% is helped by the Shorty award last week, the rumoured dating between her and Calvin Harris and the start of the 1989 world tour next week. Good Luck for the start of the 1989 Tour Taylor.

The Grammy Museum Taylor Swift Exhibit 2014/2015 UPDATE

I know this is only a short post but it has made me and alot of friends rather excited.

The Grammy Museum in downtown LA have just announced via USA Today that they have decided to extend the opening of the Taylor Swift Exhibit which was due to close on May 10th.

After the popularity of the exhibit caused the museum to have its busiest March period in its 6 year history and the year to date attendance at the museum was up 35% in the first quarter of 2015, It made logical sense to keep the exhibit open for just a little bit longer.

The extended opening of the exhibit means that the museum will be open for almost the entire duration of the US leg of the 1989 tour which currently wraps up in Florida at the end of October. As the 1989 tour comes to California in August 2015 and specifically LA from Aug 21-26 when Taylor performs 5 sold out shows at the Staples Center.

I now have a renewed sense of hope that I may just be able to go and see this very special exhibit.

Taylor's Grammy Museum exhibit is now open for viewing until October 4th 2015.

2015 ACM Awards

As everyone filed into the AT&T or Cowboys Stadium just outside of Dallas Texas today 19th April, for the 50th Academy of Country Music awards, no one would have seen that the most poignant moment of the night was when the artist who is no longer country was presented with her award for being the youngest person to receive Entertainer of the Year at just 21 in 2011.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm not quite sure what your doing on my blog. Any way on with the nights events.

Taylor arrived at the 2015 50th ACM Awards in Dallas Texas not long before the show started after slipping in the back entrance and didn't walk the Red Carpet. That didn't stop her from posing for the camera at every opportunity. Taylor had also just flown down to Dallas from New York. She brought her dad Scott as her date for the night. For the first time Taylor was in AT&T Stadium as a guest and not a performer and it must have been a little different for her to be sitting in the audience instead of the one performing.

A photo posted by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift) on

While Taylor might not officially be a country artist yet, her roots are and will remain in Nashville, the heart of country music. The ACM's still put Taylor in the front row of the 'star' section and awarded her one of the biggest if not the biggest award in the ACM awards. The Milestone Award. Not only did Taylor receive this award for being the youngest Entertainer of the Year but also for the popularity she brought into the country music world over the past 9 years.

Taylor produced the usual at awards show with her dancing and just having a great time but when it came to the time for her to receive The Milestone award, it wasn't her all eyes were on. Taylor's mum Andrea who has been her biggest supporter throughout her career was about to come out onto the stage to present Taylor with The Milestone award. This was Andrea's first public appearance since Taylor made it public that her mum was diagnosed with Cancer approx 10 days ago. Andrea was looking well and took to the stage to deliver a very moving speech about her daughter before Taylor came up to also deliver a very moving speech and receive her award. The presentation caught the attention of the whole stadium and was a tearjerker and a very poignant moment for everyone.

"And to the fans, I know you love her as I love her, and for that, I thank you eternally." Andrea spoke of her daughters rise to fame in the country music industry, growing up on the family farm and thanked her daughters fans for the support they have shown to Taylor and the family over the years.
For someone like me who doesn't cry at alot, this is one thing that makes me very emotional.

Other recipients of the ACM Milestone award are listed HERE.

Taylor also shared these two photos on instagram after the show

Taylor, congrats on your Milestone award tonight. You truly deserved it and never forget that country music will never forget you and you will always have a home in country music.
All the best for the rest of the 1989 world tour rehearsals and I won't get to see you in Dallas but I might get to visit the stadium in September and I will be thinking of you the whole time.
See you in Sydney, Nov 28th.

My Dearest Taylor....

To My Dearest Taylor and her family, Andrea, Scott and Austin.

My heart goes out to you today after your devastating news that was announced today. I don't really know what to say or how to react. What has happened shouldn't have to happen to any family or person anywhere.

I know sharing this news with us was not an easy decision to make and going through something like this is a very personal and private matter. I commend your family for making this decision to tell us at such a traumatic/trying time. I know processing something like this is new and when it happens it's new to all of us. I know you might be finding it hard to cope right now and we are all here for you.

I don't have tumblr so I felt this was the place to send you my heart, love and message of support. I know this is a stressful time for everyone involved and your upcoming world tour just adds an extra level of stress to the situation. I want you to know that I and I'm sure everyone else will understand if you have to postpone a show or two during the tour to be with your mum. Its what we would want to have you by your mum's side when she needs you most.

Taylor, you need to know the world is behind you through the toughest fight of your family's life and our thoughts and prayers are always going to behind you and the family. The outpouring of support for you, your mum and family at this time is phenomenal. Everyone will support all decisions you make even if it does disappoint others. At this time family is the most important thing.

My gran also had a similar diagnosis when I was about 10, I don't overly remember it very well but I'm sure it was a stressful and scary time for everyone. We all have to be strong in times like this.

Things will change, But there’s something in your eyes says we can beat this. Be the strong girl every one knew would make it through the worst.

Your mum is a fighter, an inspiration and very strong woman. She will get through this, you have to have hope, positivity and to remember this is not the end but just a bump in the road of life.

In our time of need we turn to you and your music to lift our spirits, Its now your turn to turn to us for support. Every single one of us is here to lift your spirits now.

Stay Strong Taylor, Andrea, Scott and Austin.

Billboard Music Award Nominations 2015

Starting this morning on Good Morning America, the 2015 nominees for the Billboard Music Awards which are being held on May 17th in Las Vegas were announced. The remaining nominations were then released in a Twitter press conference and Q&A session.

Taylor leads the way in the 2015 nominations with a total of 14 nominations, closely followed by Sam Smith (13), Iggy Azalea (12) and Meghan Trainor (9). Alot of factors go into determining who is nominated for a Billboard Music Award which include album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring and social media interactions. The measurements are tracked year round by Billboard and also include Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound. The nomination period for the 2015 awards is from March 10, 2014 to March 8, 2015.

With the smash release of Taylor's 5th album "1989" right in the middle of the nomination period, its no surprise that she has gained so many nominations in 2015. Taylor's 14 nominations in 13 different categories means she can only receive a total of 13 awards on the night. The nominations received are below.
- Top Artist
- Top Female Artist
- Top Billboard 200 Album "1989"
- Top Hot 100 Song "Shake It Off"
- Top Streaming Artist
- Top Digital Songs Artist
- Top Billboard 200 Artist
- Top Hot 100 Artist
- Top Radio Song Artist
- Top Social Artist
- Top Digital Song "Shake It Off"
- Top Streaming Song (Video) "Shake It Off"
- Top Streaming Song (Video) "Blank Space"
- Billboard Chart Achievement Award presented by Samsung

The Billboard Chart Achievement Award is the only fan voted award of the show and Taylor is nominated in this category alongside Iggy Azalea and Meghan Trainor.
The full list of nominees and more about the awards can be found HERE.

In addition to Taylor being up for all these awards, some of which may be presented/announced in a pre awards event on the day, I expect Taylor will also be presented an award for being Billboard's 2014 Woman of the Year as she was presented in 2012 after receiving the same award in 2011.

It should also be noted that should Taylor be awarded at least 8 Billboard awards on the night, it will make her the most awarded artist in Billboard history. This follows the 8 awards she received in 2013 after the release of RED, 3 awards she received in 2011 and the single award she received in 2012.

I think Taylor's pretty happy about the nominations as her tweet this evening shows. Taylor is busy back in Nashville preparing for the 1989 World Tour which kicks off in Tokyo in under a months time on May 5th.

Good Luck for your nominations Taylor

iHeart Radio Music Awards 2015

Last night the 2015 iHeart Radio Music Awards were held at the Shrine Auditorium in downtown Los Angeles. Taylor was one of the big winners on the night when she took home 3 awards.

Taylor's first award of the night was Best Lyrics of the year for her song Blank Space. She had a bit of a laugh with friend Justin Timberlake who was sat at her table for the evening before going up to accept the award.

Taylor's second award of the night was for Song of the Year with "Shake It Off". She credited co-writers Max Martin and Shellback in her acceptance speech and can't wait to see us dancing to the song on tour while Madonna presented her with the award.

The final award to be handed out last night was for Artist of the Year. After the outstanding success Taylor has had over the last 5 months, it is no surprise that she was awarded the top honour of the night.

Unfortunately Taylor missed out on the last award she was nominated for which was Best Fan Army but thats ok as we know Taylor loves us and she knows we love her too. The fans were mentioned in all 3 of Taylor's acceptance speeches.

I don't know if you would call this as big as winning artist of the year or bigger but Taylor took to the stage in a surprise performance with Madonna. The song was Ghost Town with Taylor playing Madonna's acoustic black guitar for the performance.

It seems as though both Taylor and Madonna were fangirling over the performance but Taylor was fangirling just a little bit more judging by her tweets and instagram posts after the performance. Taylor tweeted multiple times about the performance including this one below which also quoted her song All Too Well.

Taylor also quoted from her song Fifteen with this photo from instagram of a photo found on tumblr

Congratulations Taylor on a very successful night at the iHeart Radio Awards and may the awards continue into 2015

"Style" is Pop Radio's Most Played Song + Other Achievements

It was published today that the 3rd single "Style" off Taylor's smash hit 5th album 1989, becomes the most played pop song in the last charting week from 7th -13th March 2015.

Style received a staggering 18,158 plays in the last week on pop radio which brings it just ahead of Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" with 18,114 plays in the same period on pop radio. If "Style" can hold onto the lead until Sunday's official update then it will become the No.1 pop song of the week.

Taylor's previous pop chart topping hits include "Love Story", "You Belong With Me", "I Knew You Were Trouble", "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space".
The full article is HERE.

"1989" has now outsold both RED and Speak Now, just a mere 19 weeks after its release in late October 2014. "1989" which has sold 4.5 Mil copies in the USA alone, sold another 44,000 copies in the week ending March 8th. Taylor's 4th album RED has been out for 128 weeks and sold 4.160 Mil copies since its release in October 2012, while Speak Now has been out for 228 weeks and sold 4.480 Mil copies since its release in October 2010.

Speak Now was Taylor's 3rd biggest selling album behind Fearless (2008) and Taylor Swift (2006) which has now been knocked back to 4th place in the continued rise of "1989". Next in the album hit list is her debut album with 5.492 Mil copies sold so far and Fearless with 6.909 Mil copies sold.

Taylor has made another record for herself, and this is one I see her breaking continuously for a little while longer. She has logged a record extending 18th week on the Billboard Artist 100 chart. She has held a spot on the Billboard Artist 100 chart for a total of 32 weeks, with 18 of those being at No. 1.

I'm sure "1989" will continue to make history and break records for a long time to come

Brit Awards 2015

Taylor attended the 2015 Brit Awards in London at the O2 Arena on Wednesday night.

It was a great night for Taylor, She opened the show with a stunning performance of Blank Space and soon after picked up her first Brit Award for International Female Solo Artist.

For once Taylor was early to the Red Carpet and had plenty of time to say hi to many fans who were waiting on the Red Carpet. Red Carpets are not free for anyone to attend events and everyone there had a wristband which they had won or been given for one reason or another in the days leading up to the Brit Awards. Many fans had camped out especially to get the wristbands a few days earlier and then again to get a good spot on the Red Carpet.

Taylor looked stunning on the Red Carpet in a long black dress with a small train behind it. On the back of the dress was a lace red dragon that trailed down her back and into the train of the dress. She had her hair nicely pinned up, only to let it out again for her performance.

Taylors performance of Blank Space was amazing as always. Simple but eye catching and I felt it fitted the song. Although the performance was not as out there as the 2013 Brit Awards performance and I felt didn't give as much indication as to what the tour may look like, I still loved the performance and Taylor sounded amazing.
You can watch the full performance below.

Shortly after Taylor's performance and she had returned to her seat in the audience, her name was called as winner of International Female Solo Artist. This award is Taylor's first Brit award.
The video of Taylor receiving the award is below along with the video from her interview back stage.

Taylor had many friends at the Brit Awards tonight including Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith and Karlie Kloss. I'm sure she had a great time with them all and will be heading back to Nashville soon to start her 1989 World Tour rehearsals.

Congratulations Taylor on your first Brit Award, It was very well deserved.

Taylor in London Feb 2015

Taylor arrived in London in the early hours of Monday morning (Feb 23rd) for the Brit Awards on Wednesday night (London Time).

Taylor is a busy girl as we all know so in her time in London she has got up to the following.
A separate post about the Brits will be posted after the award show.

Taylor was first seen arriving at Londons Claridges Hotel. For those who don't know, Claridges is one of the most expensive and poshest hotels in London and ranges in price from 450 pounds to 4,500 pounds+ for the most exclusive penthouse suites. While Claridges does attract some of the biggest names in the world from pop stars to princes, it is not known if this is where Taylor is staying or if she has stayed there in the past. While the place is very flash and you get what you pay for in terms of price per night, to me it seems like Claridges may be a bit up market for the down to earth pop star.

After the sun rose in London, Taylor was set to get busy for the day. Sound check/rehearsal at the O2 Arena, Interviews with both Kiss FM UK and Capital FM and receiving an award for the biggest global artist of 2014 were all on Taylor's list of things to do on Monday.

Taylor is set to perform Blank Space at this years Brit Awards on Wednesday night after confirming in her interview with Kiss FM UK as the song she was performing. Taylor did her interview with Kiss FM UK backstage at the O2 Arena when she was there for soundcheck/rehearsal. In her interview she talked about many things including Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and the changes between now and the last time she performed at the Brits in 2013.
For the full interview listen below.

Also while at the O2 Arena, Taylor was surprised with the IFPI award after being named the world's most successful artist of 2014.The International Federation Of The Phonographic Industry (IFPI) named Taylor as the Global Recording Artist of 2014. The award covers physical sales, downloads and streaming numbers. Taylor's latest release 1989 is said to have totalled more than 8.6 Million copies worldwide since its release in late October 2014. Frances Moore, the CEO of the global organisation was backstage at the O2 Arena to present the award to Taylor. She has this to say about the popstar below.
"She merits this result as she is a hardworking and talented performer who has an amazing ability to connect with audiences worldwide. This IFPI award reflects the global popularity of recording artists across the diverse ways in which fans choose to listen to music today."
Taylor with the IFPI award, backstage at the O2 Arena in London.
More about Taylor's award can be found on the Billboard Article HERE

On Monday while Taylor was backstage at the O2 Arena for the Brit Awards soundcheck/rehearsal she also did an interview with Capital FM. Taylor discussed the upcoming Brit Awards, who would win in a fight between Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith and some of her fears of paparazzi. Listen to the full interview below.

On Tuesday morning, Taylor did an interview with BBC Radio One's breakfast host Nick Grimshaw. Taylor arrived at BBC Radio One to a crowd of loyal fans just waiting to get the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the pop star. Taylor proceeded to meet with as many of the fans as she could as the time allowed, before being ushered inside for her interview. Taylor even spotted a fan in the crowd who she recognised off Tumblr and got her manager Tree Paine to get her to the front of the crowd so they could meet. Many who met Taylor that morning had never met Taylor before so it was wonderful to see new people get that opportunity along with some who had met her on previous occasions.

The total interview was about 25 mins long and the video can be found below. Ed Sheeran was co-hosting with Nick Grimshaw for the morning so the questions and discussions were bounced back and forth between Ed and Taylor during the interview. Many topics were covered in the interview. Everything from Olivia, Taylor's cat and why she gets carried to the car instead of going in the cat cage, Ed's trip to a strip club in Atlanta during the RED Tour with the background dancers, The Brits, and more. They also played a little quiz game to see who knew the most about the other with the winner getting to tweet off the other person's phone.

Taylor spent Tuesday night at the Elle Style Awards with pals that included Ellie Goulding and Cara Delevingne. She was awarded the prestigious Woman Of The Year award by Elle and after the year she had in 2014, you can see why. After the awards Taylor headed to the Fund Fair which was an event set up to raise funds for Childrens Charities in the UK. While there Taylor met up with Karlie Kloss and Ellie Goulding and Cara Delevingne had also come along. Full review still to come

Taylor attended the 2015 Brit Awards Wednesday night and opened the show with Blank Space and picked up her first Brit award for International Female Solo artist.
You can find my full review HERE.

After attending the Universal Music Brit Awards after party (the company who promotes Taylor in the UK) Taylor appears to have headed back to the hotel to change before being spotted at London's Luton Airport north of the city to get her flight back home to Nashville to start the 1989 World Tour rehearsals. Taylor has had a very successful three days in London, picking up three awards along the way.

Congratulations Taylor on your three awards and good luck for the start of 1989 World Tour rehearsals.
