"This Sick Beat" has been trademarked?

I guess we can't use the quote "This Sick Beat" any more right?

Wrong! Taylor knows that her fans/swifties are always going use her song lyrics to inspire them and help them through thick and thin and she would never stop us from doing so. On the contrary, Taylor has trademarked a bunch of lyrics to stop other people from publishing her lyrics on everything from coffee cups to pillowcases to wall displays and everything inbetween.

The following quotes have been trademarked by Taylor,

  • "This Sick Beat"
  • "Nice to meet you, where you been?"
  • "Party like it's 1989"
  • "Cause we never go out of Style"
While nothing is set in stone yet by the United States Patent and Trademark Office, It has been released that Taylor and her management have applied to have the above phrases and any others not yet known of officially trademarked.

The reasons behind Taylor's initiative to trademark this phrases is still unknown and may never be known, but what we do know is that Taylor is the reigning queen of pop music and the music industry in general right now so in the long run this could prove to be one very successful move for Taylor.

More information about Taylor's trademark move can be found HERE.

I guess we will soon see if Taylor does become successful in her move for trademarking and I will update if and when we find out for certain about then.

What do you think of the idea?
