The End Of The 1989 World Tour

What a year it as been and now The 1989 World Tour has come to an end in Melbourne, Australia with 3 sold out shows at AAMI Park.

Taylor's final leg of The 1989 World Tour was an interesting on that is for sure. Taylor headed down under a week before she was due in Sydney to play for the largest crowd on The 1989 World Tour for what seemed to be a spot of music video filming and creating a game the world tried to play along the way.

Where in the World is Taylor Swift? That is what the world called it while Taylor was under the radar and being secretive. Where was she? It was eventually proven after she was spotted getting off a private jet, that she was in New Zealand. New Zealand had been skipped of getting a tour date as part of The 1989 World Tour so what was she doing in the country?

After people saw who they believed to be Taylor and a film crew, it is believed that she had come to this part of the world to film a new music video. The speculation is that the new single and video is Out Of The Woods and as radio stations start to play Out Of The Woods on air it seems to be true however is no official word from Taylor or her management on what the next single might be.

Taylor then headed to Sydney to perform at ANZ Stadium to 76,000 people, making it one of largest crowds she had ever played for and the biggest crowd on The 1989 World Tour. The Sydney show was the one show singled out during the Australia tour and it was only for good reasons. The Sydney show was professionally filmed for what is believed to be a world tour DVD. This filming meant Taylor performed "All You Had To Do Was Stay" and "This Love". These performances were special because the songs had not been performed on over half of the US leg of the tour but they were performed initially in Tokyo and also in Singapore and Shanghai.
The day after the concert, Taylor was again spotted in New Zealand, this time in Queenstown getting off her private jet and then visiting a local restaurant for dinner. The next day Taylor and her brother Austin, along with Mum Andrea posted a few photos showing off their little road trip in the South Island before she headed up to Hamilton Island north of Brisbane for a few days.

The final shows before Melbourne were in Adelaide where Taylor was very much welcomed after skipping the city on her tour of Australia for The RED Tour in 2013.

The Adelaide shows were one of the smaller shows in the tour but that the fans seemed to mind, A better view for everyone who attended and who doesn't love being up close to Taylor.

The last night of the tour was an emotional one for all involved and for fans around the world. Its the end of a spectacular, thrilling, exciting tour that has covered 85 shows across 4 continents and played to more than 1.5 Million fans. All the months of planning and rehearsals paid off as the show and its massive crew made its way around the world.

As Taylor closed up the final show in Melbourne she hugged each person on stage after playing "Shake It Off" for the final time. There have also been many emotional tweets and posts from the band, dancers and back up singers on the ending of a whirlwind, magical year.

As for where Taylor is heading next as the new year approaches? Who knows and Taylor doesn't know herself. There has been rumors going around that Taylor will take an extended break from music and we wont get any new music for a few years.
Personally I don't think we will have to wait quite that long. Music and the inspiration behind the songs is not something you can just turn off and ignore for a while. Taylor is always writing and just because she is on a break its not going to stop her from writing and recording as and when she feels the need to do so.

Will she continue her pattern and release another album in late 2016? I don't know. Taylor doesn't know. I hope so. If Taylor is not ready to release another album yet then I respect that decision. Taylor deserves to just relax and take it easy for a while.

My Dearest Taylor, Thank you for putting on such a spectacular 1989 World Tour. Seeing you in Sydney was the best night I had in a long time and the year long wait and all the money I spent on flights to see the show was so worth every penny. For playing the full setlist for us which included All You Had To Do Was Stay and This Love made the show even more special.

I hope you have a great 26th Birthday in Melbourne Taylor, Make it special.
Happy Birthday Beautiful.

Grammy Nominations 2016

On Monday December 7th, the nominations for the 2016 Grammy awards were announced. The show will be held in Los Angeles on Febura

1989 as an album having been released after the cut off time closed for the the 2015 Grammys is only now eligible for nominations and the album certainly got the nominations this year.

A total of 7 nominations came Taylor's way on Monday including what is known as the big 3 when it comes to nominations, Album, Song and Record of the Year.

Taylor's Nominations for the 2016 Grammy's are as follows:

Album of the Year: Taylor Swift, 1989
Song of the Year:  "Blank Space"
Record of the Year: "Blank Space"
Best Pop Vocal Album: 1989
Best Pop Solo Performance: "Blank Space"
Best Pop Duo/Group Performance: "Bad Blood" Featuring Kendrick Lamar
Best Music Video: "Bad Blood"

The last time Taylor had this many nominations was in 2010 for her album Fearless which picked up the Album of the Year prize and made Taylor the youngest person to ever win Album of the Year. RED was also nominated for Album of the Year, however it lost out to Daft Punk. 1989 being the massively successful album that it is has a very good chance at winning in 2016 and giving Taylor her 2nd Album of the Year award.

This year's nominations bring her total nominations to 29, and should Taylor win both Song and Record of the Year it will be the first time she has won either of these awards after having nominations in these categories in previous years. "You Belong With Me and "Shake It Off" have both been nominated for Song of the Year previously while "You Belong With Me", " We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "Shake It Off" have all previously been nominated for Record of the Year.
All other categories are either a first or 2nd time nomination with Taylor having never won in any of the categories before.

In 2010 when Taylor had 8 nominations she came away with 4 awards so here's hoping she can do it again in 2016.

In 2015, Shake It Off was nominated for 3 awards and was unsuccessful so the album as a whole should do a lot better in 2016.

The last time Taylor won a Grammy was in 2012 for Best Song Written For Visual Media with her Hunger Games track "Safe and Sound feat. The Civil Wars".

All the best for the 2016 Grammy's Taylor. I hope you get all of your awards, they are all so well deserved for such a masterpiece
